Virtual trip around Trowbridge

Virtual trip around Trowbridge

Ashwood Care Centre resident Colin Clark described a virtual ‘YouTube’ tour of Trowbridge with Activities Co-ordinator Natalie Fletcher, as ‘lovely’. Colin’s smile grew even bigger as the film approached Ashmead, the street where he lived. Colin thought it was hilarious as they viewed one of his neighbours’ house through a Estate Agent’s website.

After viewing the house, they went to watch the barges on the canal.  Natalie said: “It really is surprising where you can go on YouTube, we do a fair bit of traveling!”

Margaret’s dog

Margaret’s daughter brought her lovely dog Lulabelle when she came to visit her mum at Marden Court. We can’t tell who was more pleased to see who!

Ashwood’s Royal Ascot Ladies Day

Ashwood’s Royal Ascot Ladies Day

As it wasn’t possible to go to Royal Ascot for Ladies Day, the team at the Care Centre invited residents to Ashwood Ladies’ Derby Day instead.  Everyone came adorned in their best hats, the ladies looked elegant and the men very suave. They sat in their own private boxes reserved for each individual household and were served with homemade fairy cakes washed down with Pimms and lemonade while they searched through their betting slips. Congratulations to all the winners!

Sentimental flowers

Sentimental flowers

Violet recently had a lovely visit from her good friend Christine at Whitefriars. She brought her yellow roses which are very special to Violet. Yellow roses are sentimental to Violet, as they bring back fond memories of her son. Her friend remembered this and bought her a pretty bouquet, along with new slippers and her favourite strawberries.
