OSJCT Moments
With so many precious moments happening in and around our homes each day, what better way to document it than in a weekly, bite-size story that can be shared with and enjoyed by everyone. Here are some of the inspired moments of joy our residents, teams and communities have been appreciating recently.
Smiles and dominoes
Smiles and dominoes on a recent rainy afternoon...you can't beat it! ??
Thank you from the residents
Some of the residents wanted to thank the amazing care team at Spencer Court for their hard work and dedication, which is appreciated now more than ever. ❤️? #TrustWeCare
Smiles from the sky
Residents and the team were recently cheered by this wonderful smiley face in the sky that Neil Parkinson created in his aeroplane over Woodstock for whole the town to enjoy ?✈️
Cakes to say thanks
Manager Lyndsay made some delicious cakes to say thank you to the amazing team at Larkrise! ??? #TrustWeCare
Being told you’ve tested positive for the virus can be a very worrying time; we spoke to some of our residents who have recovered from COVID-19 and here’s what they had to say.
Beryl
I’m looking forward to having my hair done and then going for a walk in my wheelchair and going to shop for clothes. I suddenly realised that probably no-one attended my husbands’ grave so I phoned up my son who lives quite near; he phoned me to say that he’s tidied it all up and he’s going to the garden centre to get some fresh flowers to put on there.”
The lockdown has also been difficult for families and friends of loved ones in our homes who have, until recently, been unable to visit. Here’s what some of them had to say on the independent review website - carehome.co.uk
My Mother has been in Hartsholme House for a couple of years now and we are continually impressed by the care and kindness of the staff, who clearly know the residents well. With the current news headlines full of gloom and doom about care homes, I was relieved to hear that Hartsholme House is coping and has PPE. Although my Mother now has to stay in her room, I was assured a member of staff finds time to sit with her while she has a drink, etc to ensure she still has contact with people.
