100 year old Phyllis delighted to be reunited with son William

As Digby Court welcomed visitors to their new visiting room, it was wonderful to see Phyllis and William, reunited. Phyllis celebrated her 100th Birthday during lockdown but this has not dampened her spirits. She said that all she wants is for her son William to be happy and safe. William has continued to support Digby Court throughout. He said: "The team are great and doing a sterling job."

A group of young people from the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Oxford decided to give something back to their local communities on Annual Global Youth Day (20 March) by donating food and books to employees at Spencer Court Care Home in Woodstock and Isis House Care Centre in Oxford, both operated by The Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT).

Volunteer’s virtual visits

For volunteer Janet Lawrence, the first lockdown last March meant her regular weekly befriending visits to Larkrise Care Centre in Banbury had to cease temporarily. Knowing how much Janet’s visits mean to residents and to Janet herself, Larkrise Home Manager Lyndsay Sard asked if she would like to continue speaking to residents speaking to residents over Skype instead, which she has been doing ever since.

Edwardstow Court reunited one of their residents with her racehorses

Clementine visited a local horseracing yard and meet their beautiful horses, two of which Clementine owns as part of a syndicate.

Clementine has always been a horse lover and she has kept horses for many years, as a child she would always write ‘a horse’ on the bottom of her Mother’s shopping list. Clementine’s late husband was a racehorse trainer and Clementine has attended many racing meets.

The wonderful residents at Rodley House have been making pretty decorations for the dining tables and for their rooms as part of their Mother's Day celebrations . The daffodils were kindly donated by Tesco in Lydney along with our own flowers.?

“Thank you for the visit on Friday. It was lovely to see mum again.” Linda holds hands with her mum, Alex, a resident at Willowcroft in Salisbury, for the first time in over 12 months.
