OSJCT Moments
With so many precious moments happening in and around our homes each day, what better way to document it than in a weekly, bite-size story that can be shared with and enjoyed by everyone. Here are some of the inspired moments of joy our residents, teams and communities have been appreciating recently.
Changing spaces - Murial's idea to create a reading room
Murial, one of our residents came up with the idea of turning one of the smaller meeting areas into a quiet space where residents can enjoy reading their favourite book or watching the wildlife in the garden, whilst listening to classical music.
Ideas are always welcomed from our residents and this one has been a huge success; the room has become a private space offering calm and tranquillity to our residential household.
Thank you Murial.
Lake House spreads positivity
The home decided to ask its local community for contributions to a ‘Positivity Challenge’. Anyone could enter by sending poems, stories, video clips or letters to residents at Lake House. It gave people the opportunity to share their creativity as well as bringing a smile to residents at the home.
As well as many poems, artwork and stories, residents received a wonderful video, filmed and created by children in the village.
Love is in the air at Lake House
A day for romance, friendship, and love, Valentine’s Day celebrations were in full swing at Lake House, and residents were delighted to receive gifts of chocolates and flowers sent by Morrisons in Banbury.
Pancake flip clip challenge
Residents at Spencer Court were excited to mark Shrove Tuesday this year by taking part in a pancake flip clip challenge, where their pancake flip attempts were filmed and shared with the home’s Facebook followers.
Valentine's Day at Langford View
Langford View residents enjoyed Valentine's Day celebrations with a Cream Tea afternoon, Valentine's Bingo and a game of Matching Hearts. All the residents, including Elizabeth pictured enjoyed the afternoon.
Ron sang 'Be my Valentine' as we came around with the Valentines Tea Trolley. It was lovely to hear Ron sing, and emotional as he told us he sang this to his lovely wife. Ron was full of smiles and said he had not sung the song for a long time.
Rose welcomes Mary to the home over a cuppa
Valentine's Day was for friendship at Athelstan House in Malmesbury where Rose (on the right) welcomed new resident Mary with a cup of tea and cake. It was a wonderful first meeting with lots of laughter.
